PSS®SINCAL

The universal network planning system

The network planning system PSS SINCAL is a product of Siemens PTI.

PSS SINCAL is a high-performance tool for planning and design of supply networks for a variety of different fields - for gas, just as much as for district heating, electrical power and water. Siemens has optimized PSS SINCAL in close cooperation with the users and is proud to offer now a highly efficient tool for anyone who has to perform planning and analysis of utility and industrial networks.

Water Networks

PSS SINCAL for water supply networks calculates flow conditions in any number of meshed networks with different pressure levels for Newtonian fluids in filled pipes.

PSS SINCAL calculates pressure, amount of flow and flow speeds and operational points of controllers and pumps. PSS SINCAL even creates pressure-curve diagrams.

Calculation procedures to determine the run time and water quality are integrated into the program.

Gas Networks

PSS SINCAL Gas calculates flow conditions in any number of meshed networks with different pressure levels. The same calculation methods as in PSS SINCAL water exist for PSS SINCAL Gas, and the results are equally diverse and multiple.

District Heating Networks

PSS SINCAL Heating can simultaneously calculate forward and return flow in any number of meshed heating networks, with no limit to the number of loops. Primary and secondary networks can be coupled using controller stations.

In addition to pressure, results identify amounts of flow and flow speeds, the pressure difference between forward and return flow, the operational points of the pumps and temperature and heating power. PSS SINCAL even creates pressure diagrams.

User Interface

In addition to a wide range of calculation methods, PSS SINCAL offers a modern graphic user interface that is perfectly for working with networks. Special PSS SINCAL functions are right at your fingertips when you need to solve difficult tasks, helping you to find the optimal network variant quickly and easily.

  • Modern Windows interface ideally designed to meet the tasks of network planning
  • Functions for processing any number of large geographical and schematic networks
  • Highly suitable for network documentation
  • Comprehensive visualization and evaluation functions
  • Clearly arranged message system

Work with Networks

  • Simultaneous processing of multiple networks and organization into individual projects
  • Optimally organized screen forms for entering data for all network elements
  • Individual catalogues for network elements
  • Intelligent network planning tools

Documentation

  • Display of input and result data in the network diagram
  • Display of input and result data in diagrams and tables
  • Universal report interface based on the standard reporting tool "Crystal Reports".
  • Diagrams are individual customizable

Open System

  • Open Database Structure
  • Comprehensive import and export functions
  • Data exchange with other Windows applications, using cut and paste
  • Automation functions for user interface and calculation methods

Open Database Structure

Input data of the networks to be calculated, equipment data and graphics data for true-location or schematic network representation, as well as results of the various calculation methods – i.e. all data necessary for system planning – are stored in a relational database. This means: data access is possible by standard methods, even when PSS SINCAL is not being used. You should not accept other concepts, because you have spent a lot of time and money for data input, and it is not acceptable that you cannot use it of other purposes.

Beyond that PSS SINCAL offers a wide range of import and export functions, which will simplify significantly the integration in your existing IT environment.

Especially for the connection or linkage to GIS and SCADA systems, PSS SINCAL is well prepared. Here you can develop your individual solution or you can use an existing one from our partners.
